Don’t “Fall” Into Bad Habits This Autumn — How to Keep Your Beach Body All Year Long

Summertime. It’s the season synonymous with getting your “beach body,” putting long hours in the gym to stay fit and trim, and preparing to squeeze back into that bathing suit. But now that another summer is in the books, sometimes people lose motivation and fall back into their bad habits. In fact, it can become a vicious cycle. You might eat a little more, exercise slightly less often, and before you know it, the extra weight has crept in.

But what exactly will winning our contest do for you? First of all, it will give you the opportunity to experience Bucks County’s best low-intensity workouts.

Low-intensity Workouts

Your busy schedule probably gives you enough stress, so the last thing you need is to add more stress by putting a strain on yourself at the gym. With low-intensity workouts, we’ll help you get in shape by slowing things down a notch.

But that doesn’t mean you won’t work up a sweat. In group Barre, group yoga, group Pilates sessions, or LIT Dance Fit, you’ll put just enough effort in to increase your strength, gain muscle, and lose fat, without taking the risk of overdoing it.

You’ll also gain access to our HIIT workouts, a great option for both women and men in the Richboro, PA area.

HIIT: High-intensity Interval Training

On the other end of the intensity spectrum, you can push your physical limits with our HIIT program, developed by an Ironman triathlete and former multi-sport scholastic athlete. This program features brief physical activities that last between 20 seconds and one minute and utilize equipment including treadmills, Aerodyne bicycles, TRX bands, and dumbbells. These activities are designed to raise your pulse, with intervals of rest or recovery in between these quick spurts of high-intensity activity.

Another Way to Win

We’re also giving away a $100 Adidas gift card! To enter this contest, all you have to do is follow us on Instagram — @briamethod — and then tag three of your friends in the #Giveaway post. Keep an eye out for this post on Instagram, because it really is that simple!

Things You Can Do Before and After a Workout to Keep Your Body Healthy

We offer HIIT workouts for women in Richboro, PA, among a host of other health and fitness related activities. Our team of qualified fitness professionals dedicates their lives to helping others achieve their health and fitness goals.

Several things can be done before and after a workout to maintain optimum levels of fitness. We’ve listed some essential tips below.

Pre Workout

Get Enough Sleep

When you sleep, your body repairs itself, and all the hard work that you’ve put in at the gym pays off as your body rests. Being well rested will help give you more energy, improve your mood, and keep those dangerous hunger hormones under control.

Stay Hydrated

Drinking plenty of water is highly beneficial to improving your overall health and much more so when you’re sweating it out as you exercise. Staying hydrated will keep your energy levels up so that you don’t flag halfway through a HIIT class, or have the dreaded crash when you get home from the gym. Take a look at the color of your urine; if it’s dark, you need to drink more water.

Have a Snack

Don’t visit the gym with an empty stomach. It’s quite simple, food in = energy out. Eating a healthy snack before your workout will help to fuel your body and maintain strength as you burn off calories during your workout routine.

Post Workout

Stretch Your Body

People often underestimate the importance of stretching out their muscles following a workout. Cooling down your body after an intense workout helps to reset and bring your body back to a resting state. Hold stretches for 15 seconds at a time. This is best done at the end of a workout because all the muscles will be warm and supple.

Post workout nutrition is incredibly important. A protein shake or protein filled snack within 20 minutes of finishing your exercise is highly recommended. Protein can help to both lose weight and increase muscle mass. Be sure to ask a professional for nutritional tips so that you get the best results from all the hard work that you put in at the gym.

Reboot Your Fitness Routine: 4 Ways to Restore Your Motivation

The moment the weather starts to change at winter’s end, there’s an inherent need to toss the cookies and get in shape. The cold weather makes everyone a little lazy when it comes to working out. Instead, you’d much rather snuggle up in your warm bed. Luckily, the season is changing, and that means you can reignite your motivation and reboot your fitness routine. 3 Reasons to Start HIIT Training Today

When it comes to building and working towards the level of fitness you’re seeking, the process can be tough. 5 Ways to Stay Motivated When You Work Out This Winter

Don’t lose your hard-earned gains to a bad case of cold-weather blues. If your motivation is dropping pounds as fast as the temperature, then try out these ideas:

Set Achievable Goals

Maybe you want to lose 10 pounds, run a marathon, or bench press your body weight. Once you have your primary fitness goal in mind, you can start to set smaller goals to support your progress, such as:

  1. Work out three times a week or more
  2. Stretch for five minutes every time you go to the gym
  3. Meet with your personal trainer twice a week
  4. Walk on your lunch break at least once a week

Try a New Activity

When you try a new activity, exercise will be something to look forward to. Maybe you’re interested in a winter sport like ice skating, skiing, or snowboarding. Or you might prefer an indoor activity, such as yoga or barre. Along the way, you could discover a great new hobby!

Exercise with a Friend

If you work out solo, then it’s easy to make excuses about how you “Just can’t get to the gym today…” That’s why many people get an accountability buddy. When you share your fitness goals with your buddy, the two of you can push each other when the cold weather is slowing you down.

Buy New Gear

When you have a new piece of gear for your favorite hobby or comfy new gym clothes, you’ll feel renewed excitement about your next workout. You may also decide to invest in items that make staying active in the cold more comfortable.

Join a Fitness Class

Group fitness classes are an outstanding way to stay active during the winter. Your instructor will create a structured, balanced workout, and they will ensure that you are always using proper form. It is also incredibly inspiring to exercise alongside a group of like-minded individuals. You’ll find yourself pushing harder with every class.

At Bria Method, we are a group fitness studio with a focus on low-impact, high-intensity training. We’ll help you create a personalized plan that supports your needs. When you join Bria Method, staying engaged with your fitness goals is easy during every season.
